Hello First Year Students
If you are planning on attending the SRJC for the first time, we invite you to join our First Year Experience Program. This group of first year students will take core classes together and have a smooth and successful transition to college.
What do we offer?
- Food and gas support
- Mentorship with professors
- Support network to enhance student success
- Student fees waived
Eligibility
- Must be eligible for EOPS or Bear Cub Scholars Program
- Must be your first year in college as a student
- Undecided in what to major in (preferred)
Commitment
1. Must Attend Our Kick Off Event Either On
- July 26, 2023:
- 9 am - 1 pm
Or
- July 27, 2023:
- 1 pm - 5 pm
2. Participate in program for an entire academic year

Fernando enjoys traveling the world, exploring new cultures, hiking, and spending time with his emotional support animal, Teagan.
He hopes to serve our First Year Experience students with the resource and support needed to pursue their academic careers with confidence.
